TucsonBuzz is a local community platform built by and for people in and around Tucson, Arizona.

It’s a place to share what’s happening in your neighborhood, spotlight local businesses and artists, discuss community issues, react to breaking local buzz, and connect with others who care about Tucson. From funny sightings and food finds to serious conversations about community action, TucsonBuzz exists to give locals a voice.

TucsonBuzz is powered by its users. You create the posts, drive the conversations, and shape what rises to the top through reactions, comments, and community engagement.

Not every post or topic will be for everyone — and that’s okay. But TucsonBuzz is not a weapon. It’s a space for expression, discussion, and connection, not harassment, intimidation, or harm.

Every user deserves a reasonable expectation of safety, privacy, and respect. We ask everyone to contribute in a way that strengthens the community rather than tearing it down.

Community-Driven, Locally Focused

TucsonBuzz is organized around local interests, topics, places, and conversations. Some areas may be lighthearted, others serious or emotional. Each section and discussion naturally develops its own tone based on the people participating in it.

Community norms are shaped in two ways:

  • Explicitly through posted rules and moderation

  • Implicitly through reactions, replies, and what the community chooses to support or ignore

Please participate in spaces where you have genuine interest, and respect conversations that aren’t meant for you.

TucsonBuzz Platform Rules

These rules apply to all users, posts, comments, and interactions on TucsonBuzz.

Rule 1 — Remember There Are Real People Here

TucsonBuzz exists to build community, not to target or demean others. Harassment, hate speech, bullying, threats, or encouraging harm against individuals or groups — especially based on identity or vulnerability — are not allowed.

Rule 2 — Respect Each Community Space

Engage authentically. Don’t spam, brigade, manipulate engagement, or intentionally disrupt discussions. Follow the rules and tone of the spaces you participate in.

Rule 3 — Protect Privacy

Do not post or threaten to post private or identifying information about others (including addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, or personal social accounts). Doxxing, harassment campaigns, and sharing private messages without consent are prohibited.

Rule 4 — No Exploitation of Minors

Content that sexualizes, abuses, exploits, or endangers minors is strictly forbidden and will result in immediate action.

Rule 5 — Be Genuine

You don’t need to use your real name, but you may not impersonate individuals, businesses, organizations, or public figures in a misleading or deceptive way.

Rule 6 — Label Sensitive Content Clearly

Graphic, disturbing, or adult content must be clearly labeled when allowed. Content intended to shock, deceive, or ambush users is not acceptable.

Rule 7 — Keep It Legal

Do not post illegal content or encourage illegal activity. This includes solicitation, prohibited transactions, or instructions that facilitate harm or criminal behavior.

Rule 8 — Don’t Break the Platform

Do not interfere with the normal operation of TucsonBuzz. This includes exploiting bugs, attempting to bypass safeguards, or abusing features to disrupt the site or its users.

Enforcement & Moderation

TucsonBuzz uses a range of moderation tools to keep the platform healthy. Enforcement may include:

  • Friendly reminders or warnings

  • Content removal

  • Temporary limitations or suspensions

  • Permanent account bans

  • Restrictions on posting or interaction

  • Community-level actions (such as limiting visibility or applying content warnings)

Actions are taken based on context, intent, and impact, not just technical violations. Repeated or severe violations will result in stronger enforcement.

A Shared Responsibility

TucsonBuzz only works if we all treat it as a shared space. We ask users to follow not just the letter of these rules, but the spirit behind them.

Speak up when something matters. Scroll past what doesn’t. Report what crosses the line.

TucsonBuzz is what we make it — together.
